Changed words are marked inside each line, so a one-word revision does not turn into an unexplained wall of color.

Use Previous, Next, or Show changes only to review long text without manually hunting through every unchanged line.

The comparison runs on your device. Contracts, drafts, logs, and code are not uploaded for processing.

Common questions

Text difference checker FAQ

How do I compare two texts online?

Paste the older text into Original text and the newer text into New text, then select Compare text. Added content appears in green, removed content in red, and edited words are highlighted within each changed line.

Is this text difference checker free?

Yes. The text comparison tool is free to use, requires no account, and does not limit the number of quick comparisons you can make in your browser.

Is my text uploaded or stored?

No. Comparisons run locally in your browser. The text you paste or load from a file is not sent to JustUtils for processing or saved in a comparison history.

Can I ignore spaces or capitalization?

Yes. Turn on Ignore uppercase/lowercase or Ignore extra spaces before comparing. These options help you focus on meaningful wording changes instead of formatting differences.

Can I compare code, JSON, CSV, or text files?

Yes. You can paste plain text, code, JSON, CSV, Markdown, logs, or other text-based content. You can also load common text files directly into either side.
