Good to know

Questions before you begin

How local processing, generated commands, time conversion, and timers work.

Does JustUtils upload the data I enter?

The current tools process your input in your browser unless a page explicitly says otherwise. You do not need an account to use them.

Which cron format does the generator use?

It uses the standard Linux five-field format: minute, hour, day of month, month, and day of week. The page explains each field and previews upcoming execution times.

How does the timestamp converter know the unit?

It examines the size of the number and detects common seconds, milliseconds, microseconds, and nanoseconds values before showing ISO, UTC, and local formats.

Is a millisecond duration the same as a timestamp?

No. A duration measures elapsed time, while a Unix timestamp identifies a calendar moment by counting from January 1, 1970 UTC. The milliseconds converter shows both interpretations and explains when the date is relevant.

Will the timers keep working after I switch tabs or refresh?

Yes. The countdown and session timer derive time from stored timestamps instead of counting browser interval ticks. Active state and timer history stay in local browser storage until you clear them.

Can I run a generated command without checking it?

Treat every generated command as a reviewed starting point. Check the path, permissions, schedule, and environment first—especially on production systems.
